About Me

Your Compassionate Guide for Chronic Pain, Nervous System Healing, and Growth

Hi, I’m Jan. I walk alongside people who are experiencing chronic pain, persistent stress, and the emotional and physical weight that comes with it. What brings me to this work is not just training or technique — it’s lived experience, deep empathy, and a steadfast belief in your innate ability to heal.

For many years I worked in corporate leadership roles around the world before I started helping other high performers navigate pressure, uncertainty, and inner barriers as a leadership coach. Over time, I learned that even the strongest leaders can feel overwhelmed when the nervous system is in persistent survival mode and pain becomes part of daily life. What I saw again and again in clients — and at times in myself — was that strength and resilience don’t come from pushing harder; they grow when we feel safe enough to understand what’s happening inside us.

My personal journey — including navigating the end of a long-term marriage and confronting my own patterns of stress and emotional tension — taught me how transformative compassion, self-reflection, and presence can be. These experiences, combined with seeing people I deeply care for struggle with chronic pain and stress despite doing “everything right,” inspired me to deepen my training and become certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

What I’ve come to understand — both personally and professionally — is that the nervous system and the brain are not fixed. They are capable of profound change, adaptation, and healing. I am a strong believer in the power and capacity of the human nervous system to shift out of states of fear and protectiveness into states of safety, openness, and wellbeing — regardless of where we stand in life.

One of the core foundations of my work — whether I support executives or individuals living with chronic pain — is the understanding that our capacity is not a personality trait. It is a nervous system state.

I have developed the Capacity Driven Leadership Method originally in the context of leadership, because over time, I recognized something fundamental: a leader’s capacity is simply the capacity of their nervous system. The ability to stay present under pressure, to respond instead of react, to remain open instead of contracting — all of that reflects the available “window of capacity” in the moment.

And this applies far beyond corporate leadership.

In my view, every human being is a leader. We may not all lead teams or organizations, but we all lead our own lives. We make decisions. We relate to others. We respond to uncertainty, discomfort, and challenge. The quality of that leadership depends on how much inner room we have available.

When the nervous system narrows into protection, pain, fear, or overwhelm, that inner room shrinks. Choices feel limited. The body tightens. Thoughts become urgent or self-critical. Life can start to feel smaller.

When the nervous system feels safe enough to expand, something different becomes possible. There is more space. More clarity. More flexibility. More compassion toward oneself.

My work in Pain Reprocessing Therapy is grounded in this understanding. I deeply believe in the neuroplastic capacity of the brain and nervous system. They are not fragile systems that break easily. They are not rigid and cast in concrete parts of who we are. They are adaptive systems that learned how to protect us — and they can learn something new when that protection becomes more limiting than helpful.

My role is not to push you beyond your limits. It is to help you gently widen your window of capacity. To support your nervous system in discovering that safety is possible. To create the conditions in which your system can shift from protection toward openness.

Because when capacity expands, life expands.

And whether we are leading a company or simply leading ourselves through a difficult season, that expansion changes everything.

In working with me, you won’t find judgment or quick fixes. You’ll find genuine care, patience, and presence — a safe space where your experience is heard and your nervous system’s capacity is respected. Together, we’ll explore what’s been keeping you stuck and gently support your nervous system’s natural ability to move toward ease, clarity, and renewed confidence.

If you’re ready to approach your pain or life’s stress with understanding, connection, and grounded support, I’m here to walk with you.
