Choosing the Right Programme

The three individual programmes differ in scope and completion signal, not in quality or depth. The right starting point depends on where the current constraint sits — not on seniority, timeline, or commitment appetite.

All three programmes are built on the Capacity-Driven Leadership method and follow the same layer structure. They differ in which layers they include, and therefore in what the engagement produces at close.

Each programme has a defined completion signal — a specific, observable shift in internal leadership capacity that marks the end of the engagement. The programme closes when that signal is reached, not on a predetermined date. The duration estimates below reflect typical progression patterns and will vary by individual.

The Executive Energy & Capacity Assessment is the starting point for all three. If you have not yet completed it, that is the appropriate first step.

Before coosing a programme

If you have not yet completed the Executive Energy & Capacity Assessment, that is the appropriate first step before selecting a programme. The Assessment provides the data that makes programme selection precise — your compression profile, your current energetic baseline, and where the current constraint is most concentrated. Without it, any programme choice is an educated approximation. With it, the starting point becomes clear.

The Assessment is included as standard at the start of all three programmes. It is also available as a standalone engagement.

The Assessment is debriefed in a structured 90-minute session and is included as standard in all three individual programmes. For leaders who want to establish their baseline before committing to a programme, it is also available as a standalone engagement.

Individual Programs

The Three Programmes in Detail

The cards below give the decision-level detail. Click through to each programme page for the full engagement description.

Layer 1

Capacity Foundation

For leaders who want to see how they operate under pressure before trying to change itPattern recognition and structural self-awareness

The Foundation programme maps the internal response architecture — the automatic patterns that govern how you respond when pressure rises. The work builds a precise picture of your activation signature: the specific cues that trigger your system, how it characteristically responds, what the internal sequence looks like from first signal to visible behaviour, and what that costs you across a leadership day.

By the end of this programme, you can name your primary activation pattern as it is happening — not only in retrospect. That shift, from automatic response to real-time observational awareness, is the completion signal.

It is not about changing the pattern. Attempting to change a pattern before seeing it precisely produces at best temporary behavioural adjustment. Foundation work makes the invisible visible. The observational platform it builds is what any subsequent capacity work requires.

Individual only — why

Layer 1 pattern work requires high-candour personal mapping. Group settings — even safe ones — inhibit the depth of disclosure that accurate pattern tracing requires.

This programme suits you if

  • You want precise self-knowledge about how you function under pressure
  • You have tried to shift patterns through insight or technique and the change does not hold
  • You are beginning a longer arc of capacity work and want a clear, evidenced starting point

Typically 3–4 months  ·  8–11 sessions  ·  Individual only
Duration is determined by the completion signal, not the calendar.

Layer 1 & 2

Capacity Expansion

For leaders whose inner threshold needs to actually rise — so that more can be held under the same conditions

The Expansion programme covers both layers of active capacity development. Foundation work first — the pattern becomes visible and nameable in real time. Then Expansion work — the Leadership Bandwidth Threshold rises: the point at which pressure begins to narrow thinking, presence, and available options.

This is not insight-based. Expanded capacity does not come from understanding that you compress under pressure. It comes from repeated, supported practice at the activation threshold: staying present as pressure rises, returning from contraction, widening perspective from inside the pressured state. Over time, the threshold itself shifts. What previously triggered compression no longer does.

The programme includes a structured Midpoint Review at approximately session 7 — a dedicated measurement session comparing current capacity indicators to the entry baseline and recalibrating the emphasis for the remaining engagement.

Why the group format is structurally different

The group format is not a diluted individual programme. In Layer 2 work, the group itself becomes the pressure field — peer dynamics and collective co-regulation create conditions for capacity expansion that individual sessions cannot replicate. This is a structural choice, not a cost trade-off.xxx

This programme suits you if

  • You have self-awareness about your patterns but they still run under real pressure
  • You want the felt experience of leading under pressure to actually change
  • You are prepared to do consistent between-session practice
  • You want a group context where peer dynamics are part of the developmental field

Typically 5–7 months ·  14–17 sessions  ·  Individual, group, or corporate cohort
Includes Midpoint Review at session 8.

Full Arc – Layer 1, 2 & 3

Sustained Capacity Programme

For leaders who want expanded capacity as the new operating baseline — and for engagements where formal evidence is required

The Sustained Capacity Programme is the complete arc: Foundation, Expansion, and Integration under Real Conditions. Layer 3 is the phase in which expanded capacity becomes architecture — no longer a practice engaged deliberately, but the new default from which leadership operates.

The distinction between Layer 2 and Layer 3 is specific. After Expansion work, a leader can notice compression beginning and return from it reliably — but this still requires conscious engagement. In certain conditions — board presentations under political pressure, sustained organisational crisis, major decisions with incomplete information — the pattern may still reassert itself. Layer 3 stabilises expanded capacity across those conditions through live integration: real recent leadership events reviewed with precision against four observable capacity indicators.

Individual only — why

This is the only programme that produces structured documentation of capacity expansion from entry to close. It consists of: the baseline E2C Assessment at entry; two structured Midpoint Reviews at sessions 8 and 14; a repeat E2C Assessment at close with formal comparison of the energetic baseline between entry and completion; and — where a sponsor is involved — a professional Completion Report using observable leadership markers. Session content is never disclosed.

This programme suits you if

  • You want expanded capacity to be the new default, not a practice you maintain
  • An organisational sponsor is funding the engagement and requires measurable evidence
  • You operate at board level, or in sustained high-complexity environments where partial integration is insufficient
  • You have completed Foundation or Expansion work and want to complete the arc

Typically 8–11 months  ·  21–24 sessions  ·  Individual 1:1 only
Closes when the structural shift is evidenced across real leadership conditions.

Not Sure Which Programme Fits?

Answer three questions. The combination of your answers will identify the appropriate starting point.

Question 1 of 3

What is the primary goal of this engagement?

Question 2 of 3

What is the preferred delivery context?

Question 3 of 3

Is formal, evidenced documentation of leadership development required?

Recommended

Capacity Foundation

The Capacity Foundation programme is the appropriate starting point. Layer 1 — making the internal response architecture visible and nameable in real time. Complete outcome in itself, and the precise starting point if expansion work is to follow. Individual format only. Typically 3–4 months / 8–11 sessions.

Recommended

Capacity Expansion — Group or Cohort

Capacity Expansion in a group or cohort format. In Layer 2 work, the group itself is the developmental field — peer dynamics and collective co-regulation accelerate capacity expansion in ways the individual format cannot replicate. E2C Assessment included. Open cohort or corporate-sponsored cohort. Typically 5–7 months / 14–17 sessions.

Recommended

Capacity Expansion — Individual 1:1

Capacity Expansion in a 1:1 format. Layers 1 and 2, high-precision adaptation throughout. Includes a structured Midpoint Review at session 8. Closes when the compression cycle is noticed and interrupted reliably — steadiness no longer requires active suppression. Typically 5–7 months / 14–17 sessions.

Recommended

Sustained Capacity Programme

Appropriate here — both because formal documentation is required and because the full arc is the most coherent context for that evidence. Closes with a repeat E2C Assessment, formal comparison of the energetic baseline between entry and completion, and — where a sponsor is involved — a Completion Report using observable leadership markers. No session content disclosed. Individual 1:1 only. Typically 8–11 months / 21–24 sessions.

Recommended

Sustained Capacity Programme

Layers 1, 2, and 3 — with expanded capacity available as the natural default as the destination. Closes when that shift is evidenced across the leader's actual leadership conditions: strategic clarity under pressure without recovery effort, Compression Duration shortened, authority inhabited not managed. Individual 1:1 only. Typically 8–11 months / 21–24 sessions.

Note

Layer 3 integration requires individual format

Making expanded capacity the new operating baseline requires individual 1:1 format. Layer 3 work uses the leader's own recent live events as working material — a precision of calibration that group settings cannot provide. If group format is a firm requirement, Capacity Expansion is the most complete programme available in that format: Layers 1 and 2, with a meaningful, evidenced shift in holding capacity at close. If the new operating baseline is the priority, the individual Sustained Capacity Programme is the appropriate engagement.

If the Selector Didn't Resolve It

A confidential conversation is the more accurate route to a recommendation than a selector tool. It is not a sales process — it is a structured exploration of fit, and I will tell you directly if a different programme or a different starting point makes more sense given where you are.
